Dries Bruyland is an accomplished global solar industry executive who has leveraged a seasoned financial background to lead the company’s acquisition or development of over 1 gigawatt (GWs) of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity to date.
As Managing Director, Mergers & Acquisitions, he leads the company’s finance team. In this role he oversees the structuring of all solar asset and share deals, sourcing of equity, tax equity and debt investments, sourcing investment opportunities through M&A and the investment decisions and assessment of viability of the company’s solar projects.
Mr. Bruyland previously served Origis as the Managing Director for Latin America. He was responsible for the expansion of Origis’ regional operations, investment and portfolio development.
Mr. Bruyland joined Origis in 2009 as Investment Director, responsible for investment decisions, assessment of solar PV project viability and the implementation and management of the firm’s solar portfolio. He oversaw the acquisition, development and realization of more than 30 solar projects totally 40 MW’s in Italy and worked with major financial institutions such as Deutsche Bank, Rabobank, Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) and Leasint S.p.A.
Prior to joining Origis, Mr. Bruyland was the Founder and Managing Director of @Vantage Corporation NV, a financial information technology and services firm. From 2000 to 2007 he rose from analyst to Vice President, Corporate Finance and Investment Banking at JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley in London.
Mr. Bruyland holds Masters Degrees in Computer Engineering and Applied Economics, with a specialization in Finance, from the Catholic University Leuven in Belgium.
