The Solar + Wind Finance & Investment Summit in 2023 drew significant industry players for networking and deal-making in the renewables market. The event returns in 2024, from March 11-13, with a pre-summit evening on March 10. Amidst challenges such as supply issues and inflation, the summit remains crucial for navigating the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) on assumptions and exploring the emerging transferability market. Attendees will gain insider tips on capitalizing on future opportunities, handling present difficulties, and making strategic connections. The summit is hailed as a top networking event for finance, solar, wind, and storage leaders, offering insights into the finance landscape and market trends. It’s described as the premier source for shaping organizational strategic direction.

Panel Discussion: New Trends & Challenges in Development

This session focuses on the project execution landscape for developers and considers what the market will look like for projects starting construction in 2024 and beyond. Top developers will discuss how they are dealing with the IRS guidance, capital markets, equipment strategies, labor, interconnection, and the thousand other risks, while giving their predictions for the future.

  • How has the IRS guidance changed plans and assumptions? Domestic content is still very murky: Is this of great concern, or has the previous guidance created enough certainty to mitigate this?
  • What is driving new market selection for project developers, and which markets are developers most bullish on? Are ERCOT redesign, PJM interconnection lags, and local NIMBYism affecting decisions?
  • How are developers mitigating risks in the face of inflation, permitting challenges, transmission constraints, trade policies, workforce limitations, and other challenges?
  • Are signing big deals for future equipment now a requirement for doing business at scale? What is the cost of not having a ready supply line? What role does capital cost and availability play in development decision making? What does development look like for the next few years?

Panel Date: Monday, March 11, 2024 @ 4:05pm

Origis Energy Services’ Managing Director, Michael Eyman, will participate on the panel.
