Florida Municipal Utilities Announce Second Solar Power Project

ORLANDO, FL (Dec. 12, 2019) – Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA), in partnership with 12 municipal electric utilities and Origis Energy, today announced plans to expand the Florida Municipal Solar Project by adding 149 megawatts, or 66% more emissions-free energy, to what was already one of the largest municipal-backed solar projects in the nation.

“We are excited to expand our solar power generation and bring even more affordable and clean energy to our customers,” said Jacob Williams, general manager and CEO of the Orlando-based wholesale power agency. “By working together, our cities are able to provide clean power to their communities in a cost-effective way.”
