Origis Energy Announces 61 MW Solar Project in Texas in Support of DSM RE100 Goals

MIAMI, Fla., (April 22, 2020)  – Origis Energy announced a large-scale virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with Royal DSM, a global science-based company active in Nutrition, Health and Sustainable Living, for renewable electricity from the new Rockhound Solar C project.  Once constructed, the 61 MW[1] solar facility will be located in Ector County, TX.  Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) from the solar farm will support DSM’s RE100 goals.

As a member of the RE100 initiative, DSM has a goal to source 100% renewable electricity for its global operations. Led by The Climate Group in partnership with CDP, RE100 brings together the world’s most influential companies committed to 100% renewable power.

Rockhound Solar C was developed, financed and will be constructed by Origis Energy.  Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2022. Once completed the project will yield approximately 160,000 MWh of electricity each year.
