Alfredo Gracian has served the interests of Origis Energy and its customers through his role as General Counsel from the early days of the Company’s contribution to the U.S. renewable energy industry.  

As Managing Director Legal, General Counsel, Mr. Gracian has responsibility for all legal matters within the Origis enterprise. Alfredo manages all aspects of the legal department from human resource issues and litigation strategy to project development matters. Further, Alfredo contributes to the Company’s strategic planning, including in connection with ESG standards (such as developing internal compliance programs like the Origis Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and Anti-Corruption Policies and ensuring internal compliance with those policies through related training implementation). Alfredo also advises executive management to identify potential legal risks and develop strategic solutions.   

Prior to joining Origis in 2014, Mr. Gracian gained significant multinational experience through his legal leadership roles with Bupa, Avanade (a joint venture between Accenture and Microsoft Corp.), Office Depot and GE Energy. Mr. Gracian’s legal experience also includes working for Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, a leading New York law firm. 

Alfredo holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico where he graduated first in a class of 792 students with the equivalent of a 4.0 GPA and received the highest honors, which is equivalent to summa cum laude in the United States. He also received the Barreda Medal, the University’s highest distinction granted to a student, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Yale Law School where he was editor of the Yale Journal of International Law and Yale Journal on Regulation.  Alfredo also has lectured in an adjunct professor of law role at William & Mary Law School.
