Guy Vanderhaegen is the CEO, President, and Founder of Origis Energy, one of America’s leading renewable energy and decarbonization solution platforms. Origis deploys a wide range of sustainable solutions for grid and distributed power generation, clean hydrogen and long-term operation of solar, energy storage and clean hydrogen plants across the U.S.
Mr. Vanderhaegen founded Origis in 2008, in the early days of solar adoption in Europe. In 2012, after rapid expansion in the European market, Origis became a U.S. company, positioning it to contribute to the growing renewable energy market in America. He oversees a growing team of clean energy professionals working out of three offices in the U.S. His financial leadership has resulted in project capital investments of over $4 billion. In 2021, Antin Infrastructure Partners, one of the world’s leading infrastructure investment firms, became a majority shareholder in Origis.
Mr. Vanderhaegen serves as a member of the board of directors for the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), America’s leading solar and storage trade association.
Prior to starting Origis, Mr. Vanderhaegen was the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and a Board Member for the publicly traded, Associated Weavers International, which conducted operations in seven countries. In this role he was instrumental in the successful turnaround, delisting and acquisition of the company by a larger industrial group.
For ten years, Mr. Vanderhaegen served progressively larger roles with the Belgium office of Arthur Andersen and later Deloitte. As a partner, he was responsible for the Corporate Finance department, which he co-founded. He became a Certified Public Accountant and provided financial services including mergers and acquisition (M&A) advisory, initial public offering (IPO) and fundraising advisory, due diligence, valuations, corporate recovery and strategic advice.
Mr. Vanderhaegen holds the following educational credentials; A Master’s Degree in Applied Economics from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Advanced Corporate Finance from INSEAD and an MBA from the University of Warwick – Warwick Business School.
